How much does Etsy take per sale?
For a US seller, usually a $0.20 listing fee, a 6.5% transaction fee on the item price and shipping, and payment processing of 3% + $0.25 on the order total. On a $28 sale with free shipping that’s about $3.10, or roughly 11%. Offsite Ads add 12–15% when a sale comes from one.
Does Etsy charge fees on shipping?
Yes. The 6.5% transaction fee and the payment processing fee both apply to the shipping you charge, not just the item price.
Does Etsy charge fees on sales tax?
Etsy collects and pays sales tax for you in most US states, but the payment processing fee is charged on the full order total, which includes the tax.
Are Etsy fees tax deductible?
Etsy fees are generally a business expense. Keep a record of them for tax time, and check with a tax professional for your own situation.
