How do I calculate my Etsy profit?
Start with what the buyer paid for the item and shipping. Take off Etsy’s listing, transaction and payment processing fees (and Offsite Ads if the sale came from one), then your shipping label, materials, packaging and any ads. What’s left is your real profit.
Is my Etsy deposit my profit?
No. Your deposit is after Etsy fees but before your own costs like materials, packaging and shipping labels you didn’t buy through Etsy. It’s easy to think you’re making more than you are.
What is a good profit margin on Etsy?
Many handmade sellers aim for 30% or more after all costs, but it depends on your product and how much time each one takes. Use the pricing calculator to set a price for the margin you want.
Does this work for Shopify or other shops?
The fee rates are Etsy’s. Open “Fee rates” and change them to match another platform, and the rest of the maths works the same.
